Drywall Finishing in Seaside, CA
Texture match or a true smooth wall. We tape, coat, and finish Seaside homes from Fairfield — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, Level 4, or Level 5. A mid-century ranch next to a rebuild kitchen will show if we guess the pattern.

Finishing We Do in Seaside
Tape, mud, and sand
Joints and fasteners coated the right number of times. This is the work under every texture and every smooth wall.
Texture match
A kitchen, addition, or rebuild that has to look like the plaster, knockdown, or orange peel already in the house — including 1950s ranches, Broadway interiors, and later Highlands rooms. Textures →
Level 4 smooth
The usual painted wall under flat or eggshell in normal light. Most bedrooms and hallways live here.
Level 5 skim
Full-field skim for dark paint, higher sheen, original windows, or a room with hard Monterey Bay sidelight. Framing has to be straight first. Level 4 & 5 →
Popcorn off, new finish on
Remove older ceiling texture on mid-century ranch stock, repair the board, then knockdown, orange peel, or smooth. A common in-town and 1950s–70s scope. Popcorn removal →
Repair that disappears
Water cuts, holes, and cracks finished to the surrounding texture. Occupied houses included. Repair →
Which Texture Belongs on a Seaside Wall
| Finish | Use it when | Skip it when |
|---|---|---|
| Match existing | Kitchen, addition, or rebuild meeting a Del Monte Heights ranch, a Broadway hallway, or a later Highlands interior | The whole house is going smooth on purpose |
| Knockdown | Mid-century rooms or framing that will not go flat without a rebuild | A modern smooth spec or a fine later orange peel |
| Orange peel | Builder texture already on later interiors and Seaside Highlands rooms | You are matching historic plaster or a factory-flat remodel kitchen |
| Skip trowel / old world | Hand pattern already in a custom rebuild or a higher-elevation view house | You need a factory-flat wall |
| Level 4 | Smooth, normal light, flat or eggshell — most Seaside rooms | Dark paint and side light will rake the joints — common under original windows |
| Level 5 | A parlor, original windows, dark color, higher sheen, or a room that takes hard Monterey Bay sidelight | The studs wave. A skim follows the framing — common on original 1950s–70s ranch stock |

Broadway vs Del Monte Heights vs Ord Terrace vs Highlands
Seaside is a Monterey County city on the Monterey Peninsula — ZIP 93955 — next to Monterey and Marina on Highway 1. It is not Monterey and it is not Marina. Most of the in-town grid was built in the 1950s–70s around Fort Ord: small ranches in Del Monte Heights, Olympia, Ord Grove, Ord Terrace, Kimball, and Noche Buena. Broadway and Fremont Boulevard carry the commercial core. Seaside Highlands is later planned housing on former Fort Ord land. Those rooms do not take the same spec.
The usual mismatch is a kitchen of new board meeting existing orange peel — or a later patch that does not match the hallway knockdown. Monterey Bay sun off Highway 1 and Fremont Boulevard will show cheap taping the first afternoon the light hits the wall. Occupied houses need dust control. Matching the house still beats a trend texture in one room.
Send a wide shot and a shot in side light. That photo decides match vs Level 4 vs Level 5 faster than a ZIP code.

Seaside Finishing FAQs
Do you do drywall finishing in Seaside?
Yes. Seaside finishing from our Fairfield shop — texture match, Level 4, Level 5, popcorn removal, and repair blend in 93955.
Can you match orange peel or knockdown on a remodel?
Yes. That is the usual Seaside request when a kitchen meets a Del Monte Heights ranch, a Broadway hallway, or a later Highlands room. Photos in side light first.
Do I need Level 5 in Seaside?
Sometimes, in rooms with original windows, dark paint, higher sheen, or hard Monterey Bay sidelight. Eggshell in a soft-lit bedroom is usually Level 4. Original 1950s–70s ranch framing often cannot take a Level 5 promise.
Can you skim old texture to smooth?
Often yes, if the board is sound. Old knockdown to Level 5 is more work than finishing new board. Popcorn-off-then-smooth is a common mid-century scope here.
Do you work in occupied Seaside houses?
Yes. We protect floors and contain dust. A whole-house skim is still a dusty job — plan rooms.
Do you work on Broadway, in Del Monte Heights, and in Seaside Highlands?
Yes. Those areas, Olympia, Ord Grove, Ord Terrace, Kimball, Noche Buena, and streets near Fremont Boulevard, Del Monte Boulevard, Canyon Del Rey, and Highway 1 are on the same finishing page. Text the street with the photos.
How much does drywall finishing cost in Seaside?
It follows the finish, the square footage, and whether we match texture or skim. Photos first. Written scope — no hidden fees.
Are you licensed in California?
Yes. CSLB #265709. Look it up before you book us or anyone else.
