Hanging puts the board on the wall. Finishing hides the joints. If the tape, coats, or texture are rushed, paint and lighting will show every ridge. Ron Hogan Drywall has been family-owned since 1970. We finish residential and commercial walls so they look even under real light, not just in a dark room.

Texture Matching

Level 4 Smooth Finish
The standard smooth finish for most painted homes and offices. Joints are finished flat enough for typical interior light and flat or eggshell paint.
Level 5 Smooth Finish
A skim coat over the full surface for critical lighting, dark paint, gloss, or modern rooms where seams would telegraph.
Ceiling Finishes
Ceiling texture, smooth Level 4 or Level 5 ceilings, and finish work after popcorn removal or ceiling repair.
Paint Prep
Sanding and primer-ready surfaces so your painter starts on an even wall instead of fighting ridges and flashing.
Level 4 vs. Level 5
Pick the finish for how the room will be lit and painted, not just how it looks before primer.
- Level 4 — best for most living rooms, bedrooms, and offices with standard lighting and flat to eggshell paint.
- Level 5 — best for dark colors, sheen, recessed lights, big windows, or walls that will be viewed up close.

Can you match the texture already on my walls?
Yes. We regularly match knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, and smooth finishes so a new section blends with the old wall.
Do I need Level 5?
Choose Level 5 if the room has strong side lighting, dark paint, or a sheen that will show joints. Level 4 is enough for many standard interiors.
Do you hang and finish?
