Drywall Finishing in Marina, CA
Texture match or a true smooth wall. We tape, coat, and finish Marina homes from Fairfield — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, Level 4, or Level 5. A central ranch next to a rebuild kitchen will show if we guess the pattern.
Marina Finishing, Fairfield Crew

Text “Marina” with the photo. If the scope is hang-and-finish or a real texture match, we schedule it.
Finishing We Do in Marina
Tape, mud, and sand
Joints and fasteners coated the right number of times. This is the work under every texture and every smooth wall.
Texture match
A kitchen, addition, or rebuild that has to look like the plaster, knockdown, or orange peel already in the house — including central ranches, Reservation Road interiors, and later Dunes rooms. Textures →
Level 4 smooth
The usual painted wall under flat or eggshell in normal light. Most bedrooms and hallways live here.
Level 5 skim
Full-field skim for dark paint, higher sheen, original windows, or a room with hard Monterey Bay sidelight. Framing has to be straight first. Level 4 & 5 →
Popcorn off, new finish on
Remove older ceiling texture on mid-century ranch stock, repair the board, then knockdown, orange peel, or smooth. A common Central Marina scope. Popcorn removal →
Repair that disappears
Water cuts, holes, and cracks finished to the surrounding texture. Occupied houses included. Repair →
Which Texture Belongs on a Marina Wall
| Finish | Use it when | Skip it when |
|---|---|---|
| Match existing | Kitchen, addition, or rebuild meeting a Central Marina ranch, a Reservation Road hallway, or a later Dunes interior | The whole house is going smooth on purpose |
| Knockdown | Mid-century rooms or framing that will not go flat without a rebuild | A modern smooth spec or a fine later orange peel |
| Orange peel | Builder texture already on later interiors in The Dunes, Sea Haven, and East Garrison | You are matching historic plaster or a factory-flat remodel kitchen |
| Skip trowel / old world | Hand pattern already in a custom rebuild or a higher-spec planned home | You need a factory-flat wall |
| Level 4 | Smooth, normal light, flat or eggshell — most Marina rooms | Dark paint and side light will rake the joints — common under original windows |
| Level 5 | A parlor, original windows, dark color, higher sheen, or a room that takes hard Monterey Bay sidelight | The studs wave. A skim follows the framing — common on original Fort Ord–era ranch stock |

Central Marina vs The Dunes vs Sea Haven vs East Garrison
Marina is a Monterey County city on Monterey Bay — ZIP 93933 — north of Seaside on Highway 1. It is not Seaside and it is not Monterey. Central Marina still holds mid-century ranch and later builder texture around Reservation Road and Del Monte Boulevard. The Dunes and Sea Haven are planned Fort Ord reuse. East Garrison uses the same ZIP and another lot of new construction. Those rooms do not take the same spec.
The usual mismatch is a kitchen of new board meeting existing orange peel — or a later patch that does not match the hallway knockdown. Monterey Bay sun off Highway 1 and Reservation Road will show cheap taping the first afternoon the light hits the wall. Occupied houses need dust control. Matching the house still beats a trend texture in one room.
Send a wide shot and a shot in side light. That photo decides match vs Level 4 vs Level 5 faster than a ZIP code.

Marina Finishing FAQs
Do you do drywall finishing in Marina?
Yes. Marina finishing from our Fairfield shop — texture match, Level 4, Level 5, popcorn removal, and repair blend in 93933.
Can you match orange peel or knockdown on a remodel?
Yes. That is the usual Marina request when a kitchen meets a Central Marina ranch, a Reservation Road hallway, or a later Dunes room. Photos in side light first.
Do I need Level 5 in Marina?
Sometimes, in rooms with original windows, dark paint, higher sheen, or hard Monterey Bay sidelight. Eggshell in a soft-lit bedroom is usually Level 4. Original Fort Ord–era ranch framing often cannot take a Level 5 promise.
Can you skim old texture to smooth?
Often yes, if the board is sound. Old knockdown to Level 5 is more work than finishing new board. Popcorn-off-then-smooth is a common mid-century scope here.
Do you work in occupied Marina houses?
Yes. We protect floors and contain dust. A whole-house skim is still a dusty job — plan rooms.
Do you work in Central Marina, The Dunes, and East Garrison?
Yes. Those areas, Sea Haven, Reservation Road, Del Monte Boulevard, and streets near Highway 1 and Imjin Parkway are on the same finishing page. Text the street with the photos.
How much does drywall finishing cost in Marina?
It follows the finish, the square footage, and whether we match texture or skim. Photos first. Written scope — no hidden fees.
Are you licensed in California?
Yes. CSLB #265709. Look it up before you book us or anyone else.
