Drywall Finishing in Windsor, CA
Texture match or a true smooth wall. We tape, coat, and finish Windsor homes from Fairfield — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, Level 4, or Level 5. A Town Green kitchen next to a rebuild hallway will show if we guess the pattern.

Finishing We Do in Windsor
Tape, mud, and sand
Joints and fasteners coated the right number of times. This is the work under every texture and every smooth wall.
Texture match
A kitchen, addition, or rebuild that has to look like the knockdown or orange peel already in the house — including Town Green interiors and later tract hallways. Textures →
Level 4 smooth
The usual painted wall under flat or eggshell in normal light. Most bedrooms and hallways live here.
Level 5 skim
Full-field skim for dark paint, higher sheen, or a room with hard sidelight. Framing has to be straight first. Level 4 & 5 →
Popcorn off, new finish on
Remove older ceiling texture, repair the board, then knockdown, orange peel, or smooth. A real Windsor ranch and subdivision scope. Popcorn removal →
Repair that disappears
Water cuts, holes, and cracks finished to the surrounding texture. Occupied houses included. Repair →
Which Texture Belongs on a Windsor Wall
| Finish | Use it when | Skip it when |
|---|---|---|
| Match existing | Kitchen, addition, or rebuild meeting a Town Green interior or a later East Windsor hallway | The whole house is going smooth on purpose |
| Knockdown | Older ranch rooms or framing that will not go flat without a rebuild | A modern smooth spec or a fine later orange peel |
| Orange peel | Builder texture already on 1990s–2000s subdivisions and later interiors | You are matching a coarse early knockdown or a factory-flat kitchen |
| Skip trowel / old world | Hand pattern already in a custom house near the Foothills or downtown | You need a factory-flat wall |
| Level 4 | Smooth, normal light, flat or eggshell — most Windsor rooms | Dark paint and side light will rake the joints |
| Level 5 | Dark color, higher sheen, or a room that takes hard sidelight | The studs wave. A skim follows the framing — common on older ranch stock |

Town Green vs East Windsor vs Shiloh
Windsor is an incorporated Sonoma County town — ZIP 95492, Town Green, McClelland Drive, Old Redwood Highway, and Highway 101. It is not Santa Rosa and it is not Healdsburg. Downtown and Town Green still hold older in-town interiors. East and West Windsor are mostly later family subdivisions. Shiloh and the Foothills take another light. Those rooms do not take the same spec.
The usual mismatch is a kitchen of new board meeting builder orange peel — or a later patch that does not match the hallway. Afternoon sun will show cheap taping the first day the light hits the wall. Occupied houses need dust control. Matching the house still beats a trend texture in one room.
Send a wide shot and a shot in side light. That photo decides match vs Level 4 vs Level 5 faster than a ZIP code.

Windsor Finishing FAQs
Do you do drywall finishing in Windsor?
Yes. Windsor finishing from our Fairfield shop — texture match, Level 4, Level 5, popcorn removal, and repair blend in 95492.
Can you match orange peel or knockdown on a remodel?
Yes. That is the usual Windsor request when a kitchen meets a Town Green interior or a later East Windsor hallway. Photos in side light first.
Do I need Level 5 in Windsor?
Sometimes, in rooms with dark paint, higher sheen, or hard sidelight. Eggshell in a soft-lit bedroom is usually Level 4. Older ranch framing often cannot take a Level 5 promise.
Can you skim old texture to smooth?
Often yes, if the board is sound. Old knockdown to Level 5 is more work than finishing new board. Popcorn-off-then-smooth is a common mid-century and early-subdivision scope here.
Do you work in occupied Windsor houses?
Yes. We protect floors and contain dust. A whole-house skim is still a dusty job — plan rooms.
Do you work Downtown, Town Green, East Windsor, and Shiloh?
Yes. Those areas, West Windsor, the Foothills, and streets near McClelland Drive, Old Redwood Highway, and Highway 101 are on the same finishing page. Text the street with the photos.
How much does drywall finishing cost in Windsor?
It follows the finish, the square footage, and whether we match texture or skim. Photos first. Written scope — no hidden fees.
Are you licensed in California?
Yes. CSLB #265709. Look it up before you book us or anyone else.
