Drywall Finishing in Galt, CA
Texture match or a true smooth wall. We tape, coat, and finish Galt homes from Fairfield — knockdown, orange peel, skip trowel, Level 4, or Level 5. A River Oaks kitchen next to 1990s orange peel will show if we guess the pattern.

Finishing We Do in Galt
Tape, mud, and sand
Joints and fasteners coated the right number of times. This is the work under every texture and every smooth wall.
Texture match
A kitchen, addition, or rebuild that has to look like the orange peel or knockdown already in the house. Textures →
Level 4 smooth
The usual painted wall under flat or eggshell in normal light. Most Galt bedrooms and hallways live here.
Level 5 skim
Full-field skim for dark paint, higher sheen, or a modern kitchen. Framing has to be straight first. Level 4 & 5 →
Popcorn off, new finish on
Remove older ceiling texture in Old Town and early tracts, repair the board, then knockdown, orange peel, or smooth. Popcorn removal →
Repair that disappears
Water cuts, holes, and cracks finished to the surrounding texture. Repair →
Which Texture Belongs on a Galt Wall
| Finish | Use it when | Skip it when |
|---|---|---|
| Match existing | Kitchen, addition, or rebuild meeting an Old Town bungalow, a River Oaks tract, or a Twin Cities wall | The whole house is going smooth on purpose |
| Orange peel | Builder texture already on 1980s–2000s interiors — the usual Galt spec | You are matching heavy knockdown or a factory-flat kitchen |
| Knockdown | Older C Street and 1970s rooms, or framing that will not go flat without a rebuild | A modern smooth spec or a fine orange-peel house |
| Skip trowel / old world | Hand pattern already in a custom or ranch house on the edge of town | You need a factory-flat wall |
| Level 4 | Smooth, normal light, flat or eggshell | Dark paint and side light will rake the joints |
| Level 5 | A modern kitchen, dark color, higher sheen, or a new Liberty Ranch primary | The studs wave. A skim follows the framing — common on Old Town and early-tract stock |

Old Town and C Street vs River Oaks vs Twin Cities and Liberty Ranch
Galt is an incorporated Sacramento County city south of Sacramento on Highway 99 — ZIP 95632, C Street, A Street, Lincoln Way, Twin Cities Road, Carillion Boulevard, Walnut Avenue, Stockton Boulevard, and Boessow Road. It is not one wall spec. Old Town still holds earlier bungalows and mixed rooms around C Street. Most of the city is 1970s–1990s family tracts. River Oaks, Twin Cities, Emerald Village, Grizzly Hollow, and Brook Hollow are later planned streets. Liberty Ranch and Dry Creek Oaks are the new wave. Those rooms do not take the same spec.
The usual mismatch is a kitchen of new board meeting original tract orange peel. Occupied houses need dust control. Matching the house still beats a trend texture in one room.
Send a wide shot and a shot in side light. That photo decides match vs Level 4 vs Level 5 faster than a tract name.

Galt Finishing FAQs
Do you do drywall finishing in Galt?
Yes. Galt finishing from our Fairfield shop — texture match, Level 4, Level 5, popcorn removal, and repair blend in 95632.
Can you match orange peel or knockdown on a remodel?
Yes. That is the usual Galt request when a kitchen meets an Old Town bungalow, a River Oaks tract, or a Twin Cities room. Photos in side light first.
Do I need Level 5 in Galt?
Only if the light and the paint need it — a modern kitchen, dark color, satin or gloss. Eggshell in a soft-lit bedroom is usually Level 4. Old Town and early-tract framing often cannot take a Level 5 promise.
Can you skim old texture to smooth?
Often yes, if the board is sound. Old orange peel or knockdown to Level 5 is more work than finishing new board. Popcorn-off-then-smooth is a common older-house scope here.
Do you work in occupied Galt houses?
Yes. We protect floors and contain dust. A whole-house skim is still a dusty job — plan rooms.
Do you work in Old Town, River Oaks, Twin Cities, and Liberty Ranch?
Yes. Those areas, Emerald Village, Grizzly Hollow, Brook Hollow, and streets near C Street, Twin Cities Road, Carillion Boulevard, Walnut Avenue, and Highway 99 are on the same finishing page. Text the street with the photos.
How much does drywall finishing cost in Galt?
It follows the finish, the square footage, and whether we match texture or skim. Photos first. Written scope — no hidden fees.
Are you licensed in California?
Yes. CSLB #265709. Look it up before you book us or anyone else.
